Important Grilling Tips for
Baby Back Beef and Pork Rib Rubs

Preparing them ahead of time with a marinade or rub, coating with olive oil, and refrigerating 6 - 24 hours before grilling will really help to tenderize the meat. (Take them out of the fridge an hour before grilling to bring everything to room temperature.)

If you don't have time to marinate try this trick: spray baby back beef or pork ribs with some cider vinegar before applying rub and olive oil. This will tenderize the meat and and open its pores so spices and sauces soak in more thoroughly.

Another option for tenderizing baby back ribs is to brine them first. This is especially important, if you are going to grill them fast rather than "low and slow" or you don't have time to marinate them for an extended period of time. Brining can make the difference between tough and chewy or tender and succulent grilled baby back ribs. It's easy to do:

Completely submerge ribs (at least 1 hour per pound) in the following solution:
1 gallon of cold water
3/4 cup kosher salt (or 1/2 cup table salt)
1/2 cup sugar

After brining your baby back ribs, coat them with one of our homemade rubs and some olive or vegetable oil, fire up your grill, and they are ready to go.
