Grilled Garlic Chicken Recipe with Lemon

Ingredients (Serves 4)
Time: Under 30 Minutes
After Marinating Overnight

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

  • 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 lemons, juiced

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried cayenne pepper (optional)

  • Grilled Garlic Chicken Recipe with Lemon Directions

Use a blender to mix together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, oregano, paprika, and cayenne pepper for added kick. Mix for at least 15 seconds.

Poke a few holes in the chicken then place it along with the garlic marinade in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal and shake to coat chicken. Open, squeeze out excess air, reseal and refrigerate overnight.

Clean and preheat your grill for high heat (600 - 800 degrees F). If you're using charcoal, pile it up on only one side of your grill.

    Grilling Tip:
The charcoal is ready when you can hold the palm of your hand two inches above the grate for only 1 - 2 seconds before pulling away.

Wipe the grill grate with olive oil, using a rag or paper towel. This will keep your garlic chicken from sticking to the BBQ during the grilling process.

Place chicken on the grill in an organized manner with a little room between each piece to allow air to circulate. If you're using charcoal, place chicken directly over the coals. Cover grill.

Grill for about 5 minutes or until good grill marks appear. Then flip each piece over and grill for 3 minutes more.

Now that you've seared the chicken, turn the heat down to medium if you're gas grilling. If you're using charcoal, move the chicken to indirect heat (the other side of your grill where there are no coals). Cover the grill.

Cook the chicken cook 3 - 5 minutes per side. Your grilled lemon garlic chicken is done when the juices run clear (or internal temperature reaches 170 - 180 degrees F).

    Ingredients (Serves 4)
    Time: 30 Minutes

  • Salt and pepper

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 sweet onion, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger root

  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha hot sauce (or more for added heat)

  • Grilled Garlic Chicken Recipe with Honey Directions

Clean and preheat your grill for high heat (600 - 800 degrees F). If you're using charcoal, pile it up on only one side of your grill.

    Grilling Tip:
The charcoal is ready when you can hold the palm of your hand two inches above the grate for only 1 - 2 seconds before pulling away.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, warm the vegetable oil. Add the onions and sauté until they are tender.

Stir in the brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and hot sauce. Reduce heat and simmer honey hot sauce until it reduces and thickens. Then remove it from heat and set aside to glaze your chicken during grilling.

Wipe the grill grate with olive oil, using a rag or paper towel. This will keep your chicken from sticking to the BBQ during the grilling process. Cooking spray works well for this.

Brush each piece of chicken with the spicy, honey, hot sauce. Cover the grill.

Continue grilling chicken 3 - 5 more minutes. Flip, brush on more glaze, and grill 3 - 5 more minutes or until juices run clear (internal temperature should be 170 - 180 degrees F).

This sweet and spicy grilled garlic chicken with honey goes great with grilled vegetables and rice.
