Grilled Scallops Recipes

Grilling Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops Video

Cajun Grilled Scallops Wrapped in Bacon

Ingredients (Serves 8)
Time: Under 30 Minutes

  • 2 pounds shelled, large sea scallops

  • Bacon

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 tablespoon Garlic powder (to taste)

  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

  • Toothpicks, soaked in water

  • Directions

    Preheat grill for medium-high heat.

    Partially cook bacon for 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave.

    Grilling Tip:
    Whenever you are grilling scallops wrapped in bacon, or anything on the grill for that matter, first pre-cook the bacon partially. This makes it easier to wrap and it makes sure you don't burn your meat while waiting for the bacon to cook through on the grill.

    Wrap each scallop with a thin slice of bacon, and secure with a soaked toothpick.

    Sprinkle each side of your scallops with the lemon juice, garlic powder, and cajun seasoning.

    Lightly oil grill grate. Grill bacon wrapped scallops 7 minutes per side or until opaque and bacon is cooked through.

    Easy Scallop Pasta Recipe on the Grill

    Ingredients (Serves 8)
    Time: Under 30 Minutes

  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 2 tablespoons dried basil

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 2 pounds shelled, large sea scallops

  • 1 pound of broccoli, chopped into pieces

  • 1 pound of asparagus, chopped into pieces

  • 1 package cherry tomatoes

  • 1 (16 ounce) package penne pasta

  • Directions

    Preheat grill for medium-high heat (500 degrees F).

    Whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, dried basil, and melted butter. Divide in half.

    Create a large foil packet by placing to large sheets of foil on top of each other. Place sea scallops, broccoli and asparagus pieces, and cherry tomatoes on one side of the foil sheets. Drizzle half of the marinade over the scallops and veggies. Fold other side of the foil sheets on top of everything. Crimp edges leaving some room for air to circulate.

    Place foil packet on the grill and grill 8 minutes per side, turning once.

    Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain, rinse, and transfer to a large serving bowl. Toss pasta with reserved marinade.

    Mix grilled scallops and veggies with the pasta and serve warm.
