  • Directions for Grilling Steak Kabobs

In a blender or food processor, mix together the wine vinegar, oil, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, onion powder, garlic salt, and black pepper. Blend at least 15 seconds.

In a large resealable plastic bag, add cubed steak and 3/4 of the marinade (save remainder for basting). Shake to coat. Open, remove air from the bag, reseal and marinate at least 90 minutes. The longer the better (no more than overnight).

    Grilling Tip:
If you are going to marinate the steak more than 90 minutes then refrigerate it. Just make sure you bring it to room temperature before grilling to avoid charring the outside of the steak kabobs while waiting for the inside to cook.

Preheat grill for medium-high heat (400 - 500 degrees F). No thermometer? The grill is ready when you can only hold the palm of your hand two inches above the grate for about 3 seconds before pulling away.

Meanwhile, in alternating order place the steak, (red, yellow, green) peppers, white onion, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms onto the skewers. Don't overload the skewer. Be sure to leave room between each ingredient (especially the meat) to make sure everything cooks evenly.

Lightly oil the grate and grill steak kabobs, uncovered, turning and brushing with reserved marinade often, until everything is done to your liking (about 10 - 12 minutes).
